Hi all,
 
Caroline asked: Does this ring a bell with anyone: A series of novels about a Creole
detective in turn-of-the-20th-century New Orleans? There are at least
two, and they were probably written in the last ten years or so.

Sounds like the Wesley Farrell novels by Robert Skinner: Skin Deep, Blood Red; Cat-Eyed Trouble; and Daddy's Gone A-Hunting.
