[Publib] Re: Interfiling Large Print

For all of the reasons stated by Sue and others, I agree that Large Print should not be interfiled. I think LP books should be accessible, easy to find, and close (to the door) for those who need to use it.

Count me as another no vote for interfiling large print books with the
regular collection for the reasons already mentioned.  Mention was made of
baby boomers starting to use large print but, let's face it, some of us
aren't that far away from geezer hood and most of the large print users are
older.  Many have mobility problems and don't want to travel all over the
library.  Plus, unless you have a bright neon flashing sticker, they're
going to have difficulty distinguishing the large print from its regular
print cousin.  May I also put in a plug for having the large print shelved
so that the books aren't above eye height and aren't on the bottom shelf.
Being bifocally, maybe even trifocally, challenged, those shelves can be
difficult to see for a sweet young thing of sixty.
