Let's not forget that sometimes we make the goof, a co worker told this tale
on herself: a patron asked if she had "A Mother and Two Daughters".  She
replied, "No I have three sons".


I'm guilty of mistakes like that most of the time.  I spent way too many
minutes on the phone trying to help a woman look up information for her
son's report on sweat socks, only to discover he needed information on sweat
shops.  I obviously was listening "cross-eared" that day. 
Or the day I blithered on about mushrooms to the poor man who only wanted to
use the restroom.  
Even the hearing aids don't always help--according to my audiologist they
supply the volume, but not the sound/brain connection.  For that I'm on my
own.
