[Publib] Azuradisc DVD/CD repairer better than?

Greetings Lori,

That is interesting. The product comes with a 90 day warrantee, that can be
extended for one year and had it never worked correctly, we would have
had it fixed. If someone else purchases that product and it does not work
from the beginning, I would recommend that they have it repaired.

I think we used it on about 400 items with no problems. At a very
conservative $10 replacement cost per item, it restored about $4,000 worth
of materials. Since we used volunteers, there was no associated labor
cost other than some initial training time.

In a side-by-side cost comparison using the fixed rate of $1 per item with
the other service you mentioned, after about the same 400 items, you would
start to experience higher costs. Per unit cost after 400 items with the
DISCO unit would be supplies only, most likely just a few cents. With your
service, it will be $1 until the cows come home or they raise the price.

Our experience with the Disc Go Pod was not nearly as good. It was
messy, labor intensive, and the unit never did work correctly. The
results were pretty good (when it worked), but in the end we just
abandoned it after 3 months of service and went to the Azuradisc mail-in
service.

Greetings,

This is the best machine that I have found for the
money. It has a relatively short learning curve
and the results are remarkable. It paid for itself
very quickly and we were able to train volunteers
to operate it:
