INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY MANAGER

 

Missouri River Regional Library, Jefferson City, MO,  has an opportunity
available for Information Technology Manager.  This position is
responsible for design, implementation, integration & daily operations
of the Library's network systems, PC Time Management, Administrative &
Web servers, & Internet access.  Performs professional & technical level
computer system work on Microsoft Windows servers & workstations &
related hardware. Evaluates the operation of the computer systems &
supervises the configuration of appropriate hardware, software & network
procedures necessary for smooth operation.  Establishes preventive
maintenance, security, backup & disaster recovery procedures.
Implements system hardware & software upgrades & licensing.  Responsible
for operations of Computer Services Department & staff. Oversees Pubic
Computer Center & computer training provided to staff & patrons.
Allocates department resources in support of library goals & objectives.
Participates as a member of the Library's Management Team.  Researches &
develops budget & plan for computer system operations; recommends
purchases of network & computer hardware & software. Works with
Automation Manager regarding Millennium Automation System. This is an on
call position.

 

Must have a thorough knowledge of software, computer operations, systems
architecture, hardware, & technology management techniques.  Must have a
comprehensive & current knowledge of microcomputer & LAN applications.
Excellent oral & written communication skills.  Ability to plan, budget
& supervise.  Requires ability to travel to branch library for
installation of equipment.  Requires sufficient strength & dexterity to
move around & under computer equipment for installation &
troubleshooting.  Experience with Innovative Interfaces or other
integrated computerized database systems preferred.  At least five years
of progressively responsible professional experience within a computer
services environment, with a preferred minimum of three years management
& supervisory experience.   Current knowledge of Microsoft software
Windows systems & hardware, Microsoft server software, switches, routers
& Internet.  Knowledgeable of computer hardware, able to install,
troubleshoot hardware & maintain software.  Bachelor's degree in
computer science or related field.  

 


Salary Range:  $37,564.80 - $56,347.20.  Salary commensurate with
