Hi everyone, about four years ago at the Russell (Public) Library in
Middletown, CT, we relocated our reference department and in the
process expanded from about 8 to 30 computers for public use. The
chairs that we purchased at that time held up for about a week, or so
it seems. We are starting to try and replace these chairs, most are
upholstered with no arms but adjustable seats and backs, which of
course did not withstand the heavy use that they endure. (We average
over 4,000 uses of our computers a month, and that is
conservative). We have many people who lean, stay for long periods
of time, etc.

We have very limited funds to begin purchasing new chairs. We don't
care about starting with just a few chairs, but are looking for
suggestions from those of you especially in medium to large cities
that have found chairs that stand up over the years. Lots of steel
is probably a good thing, not sure about upholstery or arms, opinions
welcome.

Please send the information to Denise Russo,
drusso at russell.lioninc.org, I am writing this for her, and she and a
couple of other folks are involved in the selection process. Thanks in advance
