Greetings, one and all.

Since I got a few requests to post any responses about the headphone/battery issue for 
Playaways, I decided to forward Denise's response (with her permission).

Viccy, it will still be interesting to see what the BWI rep. says. 

And thank you (!) to the others that responded to my query.  It's interesting how all these 
factors affect how one prepares items for library circulation.

Now, I guess I need to know if head size and bone density affects the battery.  (-;

I was amazed to learn headphone size matters!  
For clarification: Playaways use flash memory, not hard drives, and the
books are wma files at the lower 32kpbs quality not the higher 128kpbs
that music tends to be.  Which means you will be listening to them at a
higher volume, so the larger headphones will drain even more.

Thanks for asking - I consider myself an electronic fanatic more than a
guru, so I love learning new things about these toys!
