We are a small to medium sized library that has started programming specifically for adults this past year. Some of the ones we have had are a vet tech on controlling pet behavior, growing up during the depression, healthy eating for the holidays, beading, investing, buying/selling a home, ID Theft, kids on the Internet. (The last two were done by the state Attorney General's office.) Only one cost us anything and all have been attended by anywhere from 8 to 40 people. We have them at 6:30 on the third Wednesday of the month and advertise in our quarterly newsletter, local paper and with flyers up in area businesses. We also do a winter reading program for adults where they can win prizes for participation. In the past, we have also done Ladies Night Out programs that have been very successful. If you would like more info on those, please contact my email.
Hope this helps.
