Regretably, many of the comments submitted resonate with me. More 
unfortunate still, it seems to be a small group of ladies and gentlemen 
who are responsible. We have a very good relationship with the Norwich 
police, and they are very responsive to our requests for help. My 
preference is to deal with the recalcitrant parties personally, if that 
is possible. More often than not, the offending party/parties respond to 
a firm word or twelve, if not we have no compunction  about imposing  a 
ban  of several days or longer. The idea of closing for a period of 
hours during a busy part of the day is not under discussion.
