Happy New Year! What type of computer reservation system are you using? We
are using Pharos and it does a great job making any scheduled time
differences available for further scheduling so long as the guest logs out
of their session when they are finished.

Best,
Erik

Subject: [Publib] PC Reservation

Happy New Year to one and all!

This will be my first stupid question of the new year....I'm sure there will
be more! For those of you who use PC Reservation to sign people up on your
Internet computers, do you know of a way to cancel the remainder of the time
a person signed up for if they don't use it all?

For example, we give people two options: 30 minutes or 1 hour. If someone
signs up for an hour and only uses, say, 40 minutes, and then they leave,
that remaining 20 minutes just sits there and can't be cancelled so another
reservation can be set up for someone else. If somebody just wants to check
their email, they can use the remaining 20 minutes, of course. But some
people get upset when they see empty computers and are told it'll be 20 or
30 minutes before they can get on.

Anybody have a solution for this? I just think there's got to be a way to
cancel the remaining minutes when someone is finished, but my circulation
staff says there isn't.

Thanks,
Cris Adams
