Lisa, we limit our patrons to 4 DVDs from the adult collection and 4 from
the children's collection. We also have a limit of 10 for the A part of
A/V, ie books on CD, books on tape, kids cassettes. I'm hoping we can raise
our DVD limits soon but our collection needs to grow some first. We also
check the DVD's out for a week versus three weeks for everything else AND we
impose $1.00/day fine on DVDs versus 10 cents on everything else. No grace
period in SW Virginia!

Subject: [Publib] DVD Limits
Hi everyone!
I was just wondering if other libraries have limits on the amounts of
DVD's or other AV material that a borrower of family can have out. The
Childrens' DVD collection at our library is VERY popular and some
families will take out almost all of the available DVDs if we would let
them. Members of staff at our library have different ideas about
imposing limits and I'm interested to see what members of this list
think,
Thanks heaps,
Lisa
