I highly recommend the CREW method, revised by Belinda Boon in 1995.
There is supposed to be another revision in the works, but I have not
seen anything about it recently. Try contacting TSLAC at 512.463.5455 or
info AT tsl.state.tx.us <mailto:info at tsl.state.tx.us>
It covers all kinds of suggestions on how to weed your collection.

The opinions are my own; the library wouldn't want 'em!

Subject: [Publib] collection development standards
Happy Friday!
Does anyone utilize collection development standards that indicate how
many times an item should circ according to broad Dewey or genre
classifications? Or, if you don't do this, what DO you do to establish
standards that aid in collection development? Thanks, Elizabeth
