The DMCA is very ambiguously worded just to confuse us. :)

As I've always understood the DMCA, breaking the encryption wasn't 
necessarily illegal, it was telling someone else how to break it.

That brings me to my semi-annual rant against the DMCA & DRM and all 
that other anti-fair use garbage the big corporations pay our 
politicians to shove down our throats. Please give your local 
representatives a collective kick in the pants to have them start 
undoing this damage. :)
