[Publib] Recorded Books vs. Amazon

Probably the same media, but Recorded Books will replace things free for
some time. Lose/damage something bought through Amazon (or other retail)
and you have to buy the whole thing over if/when it dies.

Subject: [Publib] Recorded Books vs. Amazon

One of my staff members came across something interesting the other day
- what looks like the exact same unabridged book on CD on Amazon as is
available on Recorded Books - only much cheaper! They do have different
ISBN numbers, and most of Recorded Books titles are actually published
by Recorded Books LLC instead of Harper Children's Audio, but they have
the same cover art, same narrator and, as far as we can tell, the same
number of CDs. Has anyone else uncovered this discrepancy? Is the
difference in price due to the CDs published by Recorded Books being of
better quality and meant to hold up under more repeated plays than the
others?

Just curious,

Deana
