Oh, I loved Snow Treasure! I got it from the Scholastic book club, too. My
parents were strict with toys and candy, but never said "no" to books, so
book club order and delivery days were my favorite. My niece had one of the
order forms a few months ago, and I got so excited when I saw it, flushed
with nostalgia. She thought I was nuts.
My favorites were just about everything in them, but I loved the standards
--Judy Blume, Beverly Cleary, Betsy Byars (especially the Not Just Anybody
Family books) -- and The Giver. One of my favorite ones was The Castle in
the Attic by Elizabeth Winthrop -- I still have it (minus the cover).
