Dallas Public Library is hiring Assistant Managers (Librarian II)!

Assistant Manager (Librarian II), Dallas Public Library, Dallas, Texas
 
SALARY:  Starting at $41,364 - $55,831+ annually depending on qualifications.
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  This professional position requires a Master’s Degree in Library Science from an A.L.A. accredited university and 2 years of professional and/or 2 years of supervisory experience.
 
POSITION DESCRIPTION:  Responsible for providing reference assistance and reader’s advisory to the public, supervising assigned staff (including training and performance evaluations), acting for manager and overseeing unit day-to-day operations when needed, providing collection management in assigned areas, and developing and marketing programs and services to the public at the appropriate interest level (adult or children).  Qualifications include effective public relations, organizational, computer, and oral and written communication skills.  Must have the ability to supervise others, prepare budgets, provide management reports, work with diverse populations and deal courteously with the public and other staff.   Work schedules include some nights and weekends.
