Poetically put as usual! :-)
 
We recently constructed an office for the director on the "2nd" floor- which is a mezzanine or balcony. The office is 6 1/2' wide, and fairly long so it resembles a bowling lane. :-) I can stand outside my door and view most of my "domain" though, which I do occassionally enjoy doing. It's not ideal but at least I have four walls, a door and a window- although it doesn't open. 

To whoever said they have interior windows, my old office (now my Asst. Director's office) has one and I also put a blind up since it's right behind the circ desk. My tech services office also has a door with an interior window.
