We take holds for books, but the person making the request is not
guarantee first position on the list.  Very often, when the record is
entered on Sirsi, someone will see it before the purchase request card
holds can be entered.  

For entertainment DVD's it  doesn't matter--because all ours are 3-day
circs, with no holds.
