Re:  Group projects.
 
When I was in school, friends and I would do group research every  weekend.  
We'd all get together and buy marijuana and/or liquor, divide it  fairly 
evenly, and then see how each of us felt under the influence.  As is  usually the 
case, some of us took the assignments more seriously than  others.  I always 
felt as though I had to carry the burden for at least one  of the other guys.  
 
Later on, in the navy, I would spend evenings in the library (especially  the 
Chula Vista library) reading histories after consuming a couple pitchers of  
dark beer.  I felt better doing independent research; perhaps you are the  
same way.
