[Publib] compensation for librarian-run book groups/programs?

All of our book groups and other programs are done during library hours and staff are paid for that time.  Staff schedules are adjusted as needed.  We have done this for many years now.

I am curious as to how or if librarians are compensated for running 
book groups or other library programs outside of their day to day 
schedule.
Do you get a flat fee? Compensatory time? or a bagful of Maslow's 
higher needs - which may feel good but don't help make the car payment.
