I have a question for the collective brain. A patron donated a 200 page booklet published by Jehovah's Witnesses called The Secret of Family Happiness. It has an ISBN number and is in good condition. It is smaller than a standard paperback and could be easily lost in the stacks. We don't currently collect anything of this nature - free tract material and I'm wondering what other libraries do. Would we be setting a precedent by including this book in the collection? Our library is a popular materials library. We try to have a good variety of religious materials, but do not collect books such as hymnals and peripheral materials. Any opinions? The patron who donated the booklet would like me to call her and give her "feedback". I'm not sure if that means she just want to know whether or not we added it or something more. If we decide not to add it, I'd like to have something concrete to back up that decision. Help!
