You may get a better answer to this from someone with the relevant
experience, but here are some life coach style questions you might want to
ask yourself:

* when you imagine planning programming for these two groups do you have
better or more ideas for one group or the other?

* do you find members of one group or the other respond to you more warmly?

* granted that librarianship is not all about books, but you will be working
with a lot of material -- is there something you're really drawn to like
excellently illustrated picture books or really well-written fantasies for
teens?

* this decision will likely affect who you hang out with at conferences --
do you have a preference for hanging out with childrens' librarians or teen
librarians?
