[Publib] Public fax machines and confidentiality

When I have mentioned to users that material sent from our public fax
machine [from Fax24] is stored in the memory of the vendor's machine
several people have expressed concern because of the confidential nature
of the material they are faxing [e.g. resumes, business documents,
ID's].
I know the material is cached on the company's machines because when
patrons have called the toll-free # to report material not received, or
received poorly, the company has retrieved the file from their machine
and re-sent it.
Most modern fax machines save files sent in memory. Do you think this is
a realistic confidentiality issue? Should we perhaps place a disclaimer
near the machine?
OR, do you think it's part of modern reality that any electronic
transmission is vulnerable to misappropriation.
Anyone know if Kinko's and other public fax services keep sent docs in
cache?
TIA for your info., experiences or opinions on this.
