Things Remembered (www.thingsremembered.com) has a book clock which can be
engraved. This has been very well liked by those who received it in our
Friends group.

Subject: [Publib] Recognition for SUPER, longserving volunteers

Our Friends of the Library Board wants to recognize several volunteers
for years of dedication & service.
These folks have been leaders of the highest calibre.
Most have worked away from the limelight & have never gotten the "atta
boy" or "atta girl" warm fuzzy that motivates many folks.

It makes sense that the FOL Board consider an ongoing recognition
policy....to make sure that future boards have some standards to use for
recognition.

Do you have such standards/policy. If so, please send my way.
Do you have recommendations for GIFTS or momentos to give or NEVER GIVE.

I you respone directly to me, I will summarize the responses for the
list.

Subject: [I] [Publib] The Current State Of Full-text Searching in Books

Just posted this one to LISNews:

Scott Boren has a great look at electronic searching of the full-text
of books. He covers Several Book Search Web Sites, Text Archives for
older materials, Proprietary Book Search sites, some Smaller
Collections, Google Book Search, some Emerging Projects, and some
sites for Further Reading.
