Hi Robert,

Regardless of whether we are providing for the public
good or selling the public goods, the reasons for
doing so are not as dissimilar as you may think.  We
both have a bottom line, so to speak; retail is
measured in dollars, libraries in statistics.  

Do you think a library won't "go out of business" if
stats fall?  Do you think libraries are impervious to
customer satisfaction? How many libraries have closed
in recent years that could have been kept open by
voter referendum?

And I like the word behooves.
