Folks,

This doesn't address any of your *re*carpeting questions, but I'd
like to put in a word for Interface carpet:

http://www.interfaceflor.com/default.aspx

It's "green" and doesn't off-gas. We've chosen it for our new
building, it's been installed and I love it. We selected "Bamboo
Grove" in two different colors.

From what I've been told, replacing carpet squares is easy, and,
since there are no dye lots anymore, thanks to technology, if we need
to buy any more years from now, providing they still make it, it'll
be the exact same color. (Actually, we have enough squares left over
that we can replace damaged squares for a long time to come. I'm
*very* happy about it all.)

Of course, our saleswoman is known nationally throughout the company.
She's one of those "overnight wonders" who took 10 years or so to
achieve that status. She was fantastic to work with.

You can see the carpet on the blog. You can double-click on the
pictures for a close-up.

P.S. We also chose Forbo Marmoleum for the children's program room
for all the same reasons. It's another fantastic choice. It's the
reincarnation of linoleum and still sterilizes itself, because it's
made with linseed oil, which is why the original linoleum was so
popular in hospitals. The Andersen's Water Hog entry carpet has been
a great choice, too.
