I'd like to thank Jennifer for her alert regarding Equal Pay Day.
Significant research on the pay gap is also being released today by the
American Association of University Women. You can preview this report and

Please excuse the cross-posting and please spread the word.

Tomorrow is Equal Pay Day - the day we recognize that the Wage Gap Still
Exists! Women are still earning only 77c per $1.00 of men's pay. For women
of color, the numbers are even more striking. And yes, a wage gap exists
within librarianship. The National Committee on Pay Equity (NCPE) urges
everyone to wear RED tomorrow in solidarity.

Also, the WAGE project, a pay equity movement nationwide, and NCPE have
released the results of their survey to determine if women are still
experiencing pay discrimination. The press release is attached and Evelyn
Murphy will be discussing the results at the Equal pay Day Commemoration in
the State House Lawn in DC tomorrow.

DON'T LET THAT HAPPEN TO YOU."
