[Publib] Book Drops

Charlotte,

Although I may not be a director, by all means, repair the book drop
and leave it open to patrons during the library's open hours. Aren't we
here to serve those patrons? This would seem to be a small concession on
the part of the staff for a service I'm sure a good percentage of the
population would appreciate.

Yes, Mosler, Inc. ceased doing business in August of 2001. Diebold
took over most of its assets, but it doesn't look as if they support the
book drops. By the way, don't forget that a local metal fabricator/welder
might well be able to repair the unit. Just as a local locksmith may also
be able to fix any locking mechanism. It's a good chance their work may be
considerably less expensive than the manufacturer would have been anyway.
It's something you may wish to consider.
