pertaining to Video Librarianship and the other pertaining to Video
Collections, are being deployed concurrently.  These are different
surveys and can both be completed by the same respondents.  Please

Greetings, 

You are being invited to voluntarily participate in a survey on
film/media collections, services and policies being conducted through
ALA's Video Round Table [VRT]. The purpose of the study is to collect,
and then analyze and summarize information on film media collections,
services and policies at ALA member institutions. Our hope is that a
better understanding of these collections, services and policies could
result in a broader range of cooperation & collaboration in the field.
We feel this information may also be valuable for individual video
librarians in their dealings with their library or university
administrations. 

You are eligible to participate in this survey if you are primarily
responsible for the video collection/department at your institution or
agree to be the designated contact person for this survey. Your
participation will involve completing an online survey on your video
collections, policies and services. The survey should take no longer
than 10 minutes. You may take the survey at any time prior to May 2,
2007. Because several of the questions on this survey may require you to
refer to circulation or holdings data or confer with colleagues, the
survey may be completed over time. You may start it, exit and then
return to it at any time to add, or change answers during the survey
period. 

In order to maintain your confidentiality, your name, email address and
the name of your institution will not be revealed in any reports that
result from this project or known to anyone other than the primary
investigator. 

The analyzed, anonymous results of this survey will be shared with the
field through the VideoLib listserv and VRT.
