[Publib] Automatic reserves for favorite author

We've been asked by a patron if we could automatically place a reserve on new books by favorite authors selected by patrons. I know I've seen this kind of thing before on library websites, and I'm sure it would be very popular here. Does anyone have experience with this? What kind of software do you use? Is it tied in with your library automation system? How well does it work for you and your patrons?

Any information or advice you can give us is appreciated!
