This is a problem we've had to deal with as well.
(1) We did take away the keyboard so that patrons had to scan an
actual physical card.
(2) Our PC reservation software recently got an upgrade so that the
computer reservation software would display the name and bar code
number of the person using the computer. If you know your regulars,
this can help; and if you don't know your regulars, you can still
tell that something is suspicious if you see a WASP-looking boy using
a card belonging to Maria Sanchez.
