I have a 72 drawer light oak card catalog on legs in my kitchen-- it does work
well for my wine bottles and glasses (I put bubble wrap in the bottom of the
drawer for cushioning), and the formica top is a good bread kneading height. I
have a watch collector friend who has asked to buy it from me for his
collection and myriad parts.
I also "recycled" many of the actual cards when the card catalog was removed
from the library as they make excellent note cards. Too bad I'm about to run
out...
