  POSITION SUMMARY:
The Glendale Public Library Director plans, organizes and directs the activities and staff of the city’s library system. Services provided include a full-service library management system, which includes circulation, adult/youth reference, technical services, new library development, arts programming and special events. In addition, the Library Director oversees the City’s Public Art Program and staff. The department has 88.75 full time employees, 100 volunteers, and an annual operating budget of $7.5 million with a capital improvement budget of $17.4 million.
   
  QUALIFICATIONS: 
  Seven years of progressively responsible operational and administrative experience in professional library management. Five years of progressively responsible supervisory experience. Master’s degree in Library Science from an American Library Association accredited University. Preference for seven to ten years of experience in directing full-service multi-branch library systems.
