Jim May, world-renown Storyteller, will be the featured Teller at the "Saturday Night Event," a joint fundraiser for Mount Prospect Public Library Foundation and Mount Prospect Historical Society, on Saturday, October 7, 2006 from 6:30 to 10 pm. Historical Society volunteers will don period clothing to tell stories of local historical figures, Library volunteers will tell folk tales from around the world, and the evening will culmunate with a performance by Jim May, who likes to say that he "speaks in the natural, matter-of-fact style of the fathers, horse traders, and small-town raconteurs who populated rural McHenry County." Light refreshments will be served. Jim will be selling his books and audios. Tickets are $20 for adults, $8 for children, and children aged 2 and under are free. The Saturday Night Event supports 2 worthy non-profit community organizations.
