I've bought 4 of them. Harlequin Ginger Blossom is the series, and
books fall into one of two subcategories. The Harlequin Violet novels
are for readers 16+,
are printed in "hot violet ink", and have more revealing pictures and
situations. The Harlequin Pink novels are tamer and the one I skimmed
is printed in "flirty pink ink". They read very quickly. At least one
was adapted from a Harlequin novel into Japanese and then translated
back into English for the edition published here. All four of the ones
I have are by prominent Harlequin authors--Charlotte Lamb, Margaret Way,
Betty Neels & Penny Jordan.
I haven't heard any direct feedback, but they seem to have circulated
about twice a month since we got them (we have a two week loan period),
and they've gone out on interlibrary loan.
Amazon's "Look inside book" feature will let you check out the
illustrations and manga structure. To me, they seem to be another way
that younger romance fans can enjoy their books.
