[Publib] Stumper: College Rankings

Does anyone know of a book or an online resource that ranks colleges/majors?  I know of a couple of resources that will identify all of the colleges in a geographic area that offer a particular major.  What I NEED is a source that says of those colleges, "the education programs at X, Y & Z Universities are known to be outstanding".  Thanks in advance!
