It could be the size of the file that's taking such a long time to load. 
  If you create your newsletter in a separate program, like Publisher, 
and use a PC, you might want to try a piece of freebie software like 
CutePDF.  You can grab it here:  http://www.cutepdf.com/  If you use a 
Mac, you can choose to print to a PDF when you choose the print option 
from the pull down menu.

We started using CutePDF for our newsletter and other publications and 
documents and it's working really well.  I prefer to send attachments 
(minutes, letters, etc.) as a PDF rather than in .doc or .xls, as you 
can preserve the look and integrity of what you're sharing.
