[Publib] Getting messages posted to PUBLIB

Hey folks, to piggyback on what Sara was saying yesterday... I just went in
and discarded six messages (mostly job ads), which were all far too large
for the list.
Here are some tips for ensuring messages to PUBLIB get posted:
* Don't send attachments (such as Word docs) - they are too large for the
list and present a virus/security issue (many of you have places you can
post documents, such as library webspace, and point us to URLs)
* Send messages in plain text whenever possible
* Make sure you are sending messages from an account that is valid on PUBLIB
(a common complaint is that people can READ PUBLIB but can't SEND messages
to the list; it almost always turns out that the messages are getting
forwarded to a new address, but PUBLIB doesn't know about that address... so
you can't SEND from that address)
Sara and I do not review/moderate messages, so YOU are the only obstacle to
your messages getting posted to PUBLIB. :-) See the PUBLIB list instructions
for more information:

We can and will help you if you get stuck... but remember we're volunteers
and we have day jobs to attend to, so if you're stuck, we appreciate your
patience. We almost always attend to problems in the same day.
Also, PUBLIB has a short list of policies:

Happy PUBLIBing-
