Librarian II,  Head, Adult & Information Services: 
Join us at the Old Bridge NJ Public  Library as we enter a new era in library 
services and begin the journey of  developing our new “vision” for the 
future.  We are building a new management team  that will reflect the diversity of 
our community; and we invite applicants for  the position of Head of Adult & 
information Services.  
Our Reference Department is in the  process of transformation from a tradition
al “Reference Department” to one with  the focus on the community needs of 
adults (of all ages) in areas of  programming, reader’s advisory, collection 
development, outreach services to  special populations and job & business 
information.  This is a position for someone with  energy, commitment and a sense of 
humor; someone who can think outside the  “box,” who finds change a positive 
experience; and someone who wants to be  actively involved in the community. 
Knowledge of current adult and  information services standards and practices 
as well as strong customer service  and communication skills are essential.  
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, supervision, staff  
evaluation & training and working at the services desk.   
Five years professional librarian  experience is required with a minimum of 
three years of supervisory  experience.  An ALA accredited MLS and a  New 
Jersey Professional Librarian’s certificate are required.  Salary is $51,374, and 
includes a  generous benefits package The 35 hour work week includes nights and 
weekends  (Saturday & Sunday) on a regular basis depending on the needs of
