Care and Handling of Public Library Materials (Live Online)
Description
Library materials in public libraries present a significant
preservation concern. They are heavily used, and some are fragile and
susceptible to damage due to improper exposure to inclement weather
and storage conditions. This two-hour online introductory class is
designed to aid public libraries in developing basic preservation
strategies based on real-world issues. For example, providing
protection to library materials (books, periodicals, videotapes, CDs,
DVD) by performing basic care and handling practices, providing proper
storage conditions will minimize damage.
