[Publib] Do you have a "no loitering" sign or policy?

MessageWe posted No Loitering Signs in the library when a local started
hanging out at the library because he did not want to go to an adult
"daycare" center for those with mental disabilities. We did so at the
suggestion/request of the local police, as they said they could not do
anything without first having those signs posted. (he would stay all day,
sleep in the chairs and follow people around the library) After they were
posted, we could contact the police for anyone who was there with no purpose
for an "extended stay". It seemed a little funny, but it has worked.
We do not have a policy, but perhaps should consider adding this to our
service policy. I would be interested in your results, should you receive
any -

Thank you,
Andrea Berstler

Subject: [Publib] Do you have a "no loitering" sign or policy?

  To the Group:

Does your library have "no loitering" signs or any kind of "no loitering"
policy governing conduct outside your buildings? If you have a policy,
would you share that with me (off-list if it is long)? I searched the
archives and did not find this topic. I hope I did not overlook something
that has already been discussed.

  Many thanks,

  Deborah Lammers
