I wonder if the energy use costs that your library could incur by leaving
the computers running throughout the night has been considered. At my
library the computers and monitors used by both the public and the staff are
powered down after hours to conserve energy. For those of you who don't
power down your monitors at night, remember that there is still energy being
used even if the monitor goes into sleep mode and the life of the components
may be shortened.

I don't know why IBM hasn't targeted libraries since we all have computers
that sit idle (when we are closed) for long periods of time. It seems such
an easy way to help the world. I have downloaded the software and am
participating and see no problems with my computer.
