[Publib] Putting the Brakes on the Car Thread

O.k., it's been very fun, but per a small confab with Sara, we're agreed
it's time to put this fun thread to bed, but of course not before your other
co-moderator shares that she drives a 13-year-old Honda Civic. I plan to
drive this car two more years (it will last much longer than that; it just
went over 160,000 miles), then turn it into a hybrid or a Mini-Cooper or
somesuch. It's not even a question of money so much as what I spend it on. I
just earned a second masters degree that means a lot to me, and this dear
old reliable car underwrote it. My SO drives a 2000 Corolla. She will drive
it until it falls apart. That's just how we are. 

Those of you complaining that you received digests that were largely car
messages... let me make another pitch for getting individual messages. I
filter my list mail into a folder... some messages, well, they don't ever
even get opened (**cough**). 

Now, if we were PUBLIB 2.0, we'd be uploading our car pix to our Flickr
group! But today I'm sort of Karen 1.2, so email is fine...
