[Publib] What Does a Librarian Drive?

I will be buying a fairly late model car in the next couple months. My 1997
Ford Contour (most reliable car I ever owned) just threw a head gasket ($750
to replace) and the 1996 Nissan Pathfinder I've been borrowing from my folks
during the mean time has broken down on me twice (in the past 3 days... one
of those times was 45 minutes ago). Now I'm actively looking for a 2006
Toyota Prius...

I ride my bicycle or take the bus.

My car (which my wife drives more than I do) is a 1990-something Pontiac
Sunfire named Mae because we bought it with the $3000 we inherited when
my Grandmother Mae and my used pickup truck both died at about the same
time.

Maybe the significant other makes money?  Maybe they
are financed to the hilt?

I have a fairly late model car, because I need
