I haven't seen this mentioned either: On alternate days I drive a 2005 red
Saturn Vue with a "Partnership for an Idiot-Free America" bumpersticker and
a fish medallion that says "N Chips" on its body. When we were SUV shopping
the only hybrid available was Ford's and they weren't available in Texas,
the dealer told us. (We plan to upgrade to the hybrid Vue the next time we
get a car.)
The other days, I drive a 1997 white Toyota Corolla, with a Celtic knotwork
cat cling sticker, and three bumperstickers: "Kinky Friedman for governor
- why the hell not?" "K - governor" and "My other car is a Zamboni."
I had to give up my first new, self-bought-and-paid-for car, a 93 blue Geo
Metro 2-door, when we moved to Texas. (No a/c in this heat? No way!) We
sold it to the mechanic who kept it in great condition for ten years. He
gave it to his nephew, so now little Claudia is living in Tijuana, no doubt
pounding down tequila shots and circling the Benito Juaraz statue on two
wheels.
BTW, thanks to the person who posted about her "I will shush your *ss"
license plate frame. I told my partner about it, and after she stopped
laughing, she said, "Order one. Now."
