[Publib] NY Library Update

There has not been a lot of what you could call thunder or lightning in the  
aftermath of the New York Times _story_ 
(http://select.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=F10B1FFA3E5A0C7A8DDDA80994DE404482)   about the increased salaries 
of its officials, nor any special commotion about  those salaries in 
comparison to the library workers at the bottom of the pecking  order.  Below you will 
find what I could gather in a spare moment.
 
Here's a reference question for you:  Who first made popular the  phrase 
"Where's the outrage?"
