Brilliant list of ideas, Dale!
I especially appreciate the thought we should listen to each other, our patrons, and the market. Maintaining old books on the shelf costs money, time, and aggravation and, if youre a popular lending librarycirculations.
Im always surprised at the stunned reaction when I tell a patron that Ill obtain and add requested material, if available, to the collection.
I care what they think? The library cares? Their input matters?
Since they pay the bills, I should think so!
