[Publib] Referendum Question

In 2004, our community said Yes to a new building and No to the operating
funds needed for that facility.

The increased operating rate proposition has been on the ballot every
election since then... and we are gaining on the Yes percentage.

Having determined that successful library service in our community depends
on the new rate it is my opinion that we owe it to our cardholders to keep
asking for that rate, no matter how long it takes!

As a result of the No votes we will reduce hours and services as of January,
2007. When patrons ask "why the cuts" we are prepared to hand them our
election information brochure and say " it is in here, we said we needed
the funding or we'd have to do this."

We are also working, even harder, to let the community know what a GREAT
return on their investment our services can be....
