Job Announcement:

Nashua, NH, Assistant Director, Nashua Public Library 

QUAL: Master of Library Science degree and, at least, five years of
public library experience, with three or more years in library
administration. Must be able to provide leadership and supervision for
staff; sound management of all operations; and demonstrated experience
with automated systems including extensive computer hardware and
software experience.  Knowledge of and experience with network
administration, operating systems and applications software. Knowledge
of and experience with the Horizon ILS system from SirsiDynix preferred.

DUTIES: Full-time 40 hour position in public library may include some
evenings and weekend hours.  Assists the Library Directory in the
overall operation of the library. Acts in place of the Director as
needed.  Assists the Library Director by recommending library policies,
procedures and practices.   Establishes and maintains cooperative
relationships with civic, community and municipal organizations. Keeps
current on trends in library technology and the library field by
attending professional workshops and reviewing professional journals.
Coordinates and supports all computer technology services within the
library. Manages the Integrated Library System (ILS), including the
web-based OPAC, Remote Patron Authentication, and CybraryN.  Serves as
the Library Information Technology Team Leader to design, implement, and
maintain the library's network, both administrative and public,
including hardware, software, and LAN/WAN based activities.  As Team
Leader, installs, selects, and maintains all library computer hardware,
software, and peripheral devices; assists in the development of policy
and procedures with regard to public use of the computers; supervises
and assists with the creation and maintenance of the library's web page;
assists in training of staff in the use of computer networks.
Supervises and assists the Assistant Librarian/Technology Specialist in
troubleshooting computer problems as they occur.  Performs any and all
other library-related duties as assigned by the Director. 

SALARY: Position range: $60,726 - 88,467. Expected starting range:
$60,000-$75,000
