I got this on an email from a friend who had to serve a few months in a federal prison - I thought you guys might be interested
What people in prison read
Our library at the prison camp manages the interlibrary loan program for the camp, the medium-security prison and the high-security penitentiary. That program allows inmates to check out books from all over Indiana, a very good program. Thought some of you might be interested in what people in prison read. Here is a random selection from orders last week from all three prisons:
Ashes to Ashes
Gunsmith (westerns are very popular)
A Brief History of the Vikings
Bisexual Option
Love Letter...Lust Letters
Expatriate Employment Handbook
Chicago-Movie Vocal Selections
Lesbian Sex Book: a Guide for Women Who Love Women (remember, there are no women here)
Lucifer's Children
The Kingdomless King (fantasy is very popular)
Violent Crimes
20th-century Crime Fiction
Ancient China 2250 BC-AD 250
Aryan America: Race Revolution
Frederick Douglass
Cookbook of Sauces
Original Chevrolet 1955-1957
Prosecutorial Misconduct
Sophie's Choice
Sword of the Red Ice
Poem of Love
Encyclopedia of Muscle Strength
Red Badge of Courage
Home Repair and Remodel Guide
Lonesome Dove
Multiple Sclerosis: a Guide for Families
How to Be Rich
Music Business Agreements
Gods and Pharoahs from Egyption Myth
Drywalling
The Bitten
Greenhouse Operation and Management
Conant the Defiant
The Art of War
Negroes with Guns
1001 Sex Secrets Every Man Should Know
Ultimate Aquarium
Marine Reef Aquarium Handbook
It is particularly interesting to me that someone almost always orders a book about aquaria. Remember, no one has an aquarium here. Different people order them. Must mean something. I do plan to suggest that my stepson _____-who owns the _______Aquarium in ________-might want to do some marketing to ex-inmates.
